Up next for our #2020InReview spotlight is the “Purdue – Simulator Center, Aircraft Simulator Infrastructure Installation” project.
When Purdue University needed to make critical infrastructure improvements to their Holleman – Niswonger Simulator Center at the Purdue airport, their first choice was to contract with HP Legacy for the improvements. The suite of task trainers and simulators housed in the simulator center are a key component of Purdue’s world-class aviation training. Flight technology available to students includes simulators for Cirrus SR20, Airbus, a full-motion Hawker 900XP Level D simulator and the Redbird XWind crosswind landing trainer.
HP Legacy was required to oversee the installation and startup of multiple, very specialized, long lead time pieces of equipment/apparatus. This all had to be done thru a compact time constraint due to the commencement of the 2020 school year, all while the facility remained in operation. Under the leadership of Justin Caffey, HP Legacy began the improvements in May and completed them in August before the fall semester began.
